Dr. Diane Camelleri, a talented veterinarian who devoted her career to helping animals in need, will continue her legacy through the Dr. Diane Camelleri, VDM, Rescue Fund. The fund, which is set up in Dr. Camelleri's memory, aims to raise donations that will go towards rescuing and caring for animals that are often left to fend for themselves on the streets.
In New York City, Dr. Diane Camilleri grew up loving animals from an early age. She was a beloved member of the animal welfare community, known for her compassion and dedication to helping animals. Upon graduating from NYU, she earned a Master of Arts and Sciences degree and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Pennsylvania State University. Dr. Diane began her career at an animal shelter in NYC, then became a Professor of Veterinary Technology at NYU. Throughout her career, she worked tirelessly to provide care and support to animals in need, often going above and beyond to ensure they received the highest possible care.
Following retirement, Dr. Diane and her husband, John, enjoyed world travel. They later opened a bookstore, JHS Bookstore, in Foley, AL. They also enjoyed volunteering and donating to charity organizations in her community. Sadly Dr. Camelleri passed away. To continue her legacy of helping homeless pets, this giving fund is established in Dr. Camelleris' memory, which serves as a testament to her commitment to animal welfare. The fund will be used to provide food, shelter, medical care, and other essential services to homeless cats and dogs, with the ultimate goal of finding them loving forever homes.
Donations to the fund can be made online, and every dollar counts towards making a difference in the lives of animals in need. By supporting this giving fund, donors can honor Dr. Camelleris' legacy and make a meaningful contribution to the animal welfare community.
In addition to the giving fund, Dr. Camelleris' legacy lives on through the countless animals she helped during her career. Her compassion and dedication to animal welfare will continue to inspire others to make a difference in the lives of animals in need.
Together, we can make a difference in the lives of homeless cats and dogs. By supporting the giving fund established in Dr. Richards' memory, we can honor her legacy and ensure that animals in need receive the care and support they deserve.
